Essentia Health is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our Emergency Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality pre-hospital and interfacility emergency care, including patient assessment, advanced life support interventions, safe transport, and clear communication with physicians, nurses, and dispatch. You will document care accurately, maintain equipment readiness, and follow all clinical and safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Respond to 911 and urgent medical calls and provide on-scene assessment and treatment.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and obtain relevant medical histories.
- Provide advanced life support, including airway management, cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, and medication administration under protocols.
- Initiate IV/IO access, manage hemorrhage, immobilize fractures and spinal injuries, and perform other life-saving interventions.
- Safely transport patients to appropriate medical facilities while continuously monitoring and reassessing their condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, receiving facilities, and medical control to coordinate patient care.
- Document all assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in electronic patient care reports.
- Operate and maintain ambulances and emergency equipment in a safe, clean, and ready state.
- Follow local, state, and federal regulations and adhere to Essentia Health policies and clinical guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education, skills training, and quality improvement activities.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other first responders to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Engage with the community through outreach, public education, and health and safety initiatives as assigned.
