Psychiatric NP

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to diagnose and treat mental health disorders.
• Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring effectiveness and making adjustments as necessary.
• Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions and treatment protocol.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure a continuum of care for patients.
• Maintain comprehensive, timely, and legible medical records.
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in psychiatry.

Required Skills

• Strong clinical skills in psychiatric assessment and medication management.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to empathize with patients and build trust.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices in psychiatry, particularly relating to pharmacotherapy.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong documentation skills and proficiency with healthcare IT systems.
