Materials Supervisor

A. O. Smith seeks a Materials Supervisor to lead materials planning, inventory control, and warehouse operations at our manufacturing facility. In this performance-driven, safety-focused environment, you will ensure timely, accurate material flow to production while maintaining optimal inventory levels. Key duties include supervising materials staff, leveraging ERP/MRP tools, coordinating with production and suppliers, driving 5S and continuous improvement, and tracking KPIs. Responsibilities

• Lead daily materials planning, inventory control, and material flow to production lines
• Coordinate purchasing, receiving, and storage of raw materials and components
• Monitor stock levels, perform cycle counts, and resolve inventory discrepancies
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality to ensure on-time material availability
• Implement safety, 5
• S, and continuous improvement practices in the materials area
• Use ERP/MRP systems to schedule materials and track demand and usage
• Supervise, train, and evaluate materials and warehouse staff
• Monitor supplier performance and support cost, quality, and delivery improvements
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and audit requirements
• Analyze data and report KPIs on inventory, delivery performance, and material-related downtime
