Responsibilities
- Perform routine and urgent radiographic exams in an urgent care setting following provider orders and established protocols.
- Position patients correctly and safely, applying radiation safety principles to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
- Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, troubleshooting minor issues and reporting equipment concerns promptly.
- Upload and manage images within PACS/RIS systems, ensuring accurate labeling and timely availability for provider review.
- Verify patient identity, obtain relevant history, and clearly explain imaging procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, including procedure details and imaging notes.
- Prioritize workflow based on clinical urgency, coordinating with providers and nurses to support efficient patient throughput.
- Assist with basic clinical tasks such as vital signs, specimen handling, and EKGs when needed, in accordance with scope of practice.
- Follow strict infection prevention and control procedures, maintaining a clean and safe imaging and clinical environment.
- Collaborate with the care team, participating in cross-training and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and service.
