Responsibilities
- Perform routine and urgent diagnostic X-ray exams in accordance with provider orders and established protocols.
- Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing discomfort and repeat exposure.
- Operate and maintain digital radiography equipment, ensuring proper technique, exposure settings, and image quality.
- Follow all radiation safety and protection standards, including appropriate shielding and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Verify patient identity, review exam orders, obtain relevant history, and explain procedures to patients and families.
- Upload, label, and transmit images accurately through PACS and document exams in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support timely diagnosis and treatment in a fast-paced urgent care setting.
- Assist with basic clinical tasks such as rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and supporting point-of-care testing as needed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and stocked imaging and exam rooms, adhering to infection control and OSHA standards.
- Perform routine quality control checks and promptly report equipment or safety issues to appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
- Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all Baptist Urgent Care policies and procedures.
