The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking Radiology Technologists to perform high quality diagnostic imaging for diverse patient populations. In this role, you will operate advanced radiologic equipment, follow physician orders, position patients safely, and ensure accurate imaging protocols. You will collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence based, patient centered care. Responsibilities include maintaining image quality standards, adhering to ALARA and safety regulations, supporting training of staff or students, and contributing to continuous quality improvement in an academic health system.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiologic imaging following physician orders and established protocols
  • Operate and troubleshoot radiology equipment, ensuring optimal image quality
  • Position and prepare patients, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and safety
  • Adhere to radiation safety, ALARA principles, and infection control standards
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and care teams to support timely diagnosis
  • Verify patient identity and exam details, maintaining accurate imaging records
  • Monitor images for quality and repeat studies when clinically necessary
  • Support training and mentoring of students or new technologists as requested
  • Participate in quality improvement, equipment checks, and workflow optimization
  • Communicate professionally with patients and families in a patient-centered manner
