Angiography Technologist

Legacy Health, a non-profit health system serving Oregon and Washington, is seeking an Angiography Technologist for our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will perform advanced diagnostic and interventional angiographic procedures, ensure patient safety and comfort, and collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff. You'll operate and maintain imaging equipment, follow radiation safety standards, and assist in emergency interventions. Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with complex diagnostic and interventional angiographic procedures in collaboration with physicians and nurses.
• Operate angiographic and fluoroscopic imaging systems, optimizing image quality while minimizing patient and staff radiation exposure.
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies, including sterile field set up and management of catheters, guidewires, and interventional devices.
• Assess, position, and prepare patients for procedures, ensuring accurate identification, informed participation, comfort, and safety.
• Apply and maintain strict sterile technique and infection prevention practices throughout all procedures.
• Assist with contrast media administration and monitor patients for potential adverse reactions, escalating concerns appropriately.
• Support patient monitoring during procedures, collaborating with nursing and physicians in observing vital signs and patient status.
• Document procedures, supplies, and patient information accurately in the electronic medical record and departmental systems.
• Participate in equipment quality control, routine checks, and troubleshooting to ensure safe and reliable operation of imaging systems.
• Serve as a resource and preceptor for new technologists, students, and cross training staff, providing coaching and feedback.
• Contribute to department safety initiatives, including radiation safety practices, time outs, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Participate in call rotation, flexible scheduling, and cross coverage of related procedural areas as needed to support patient care demands.
• Engage in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain certifications and stay current with evolving practices.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to evaluate workflow, support process improvements, and enhance the overall patient experience.
