Physicians Care, a nonprofit clinic serving uninsured adults in Cobb County, seeks an X-Ray Tech to support our Healthcare & Medical Services department. You'll perform diagnostic imaging, ensure high-quality radiographs, maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and assist providers with patient care. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations for adult patients according to provider orders and clinic protocols.
- Properly identify, prepare, and position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Operate digital radiography equipment and related systems, selecting appropriate technical factors and using correct radiation protection techniques.
- Review images for diagnostic quality and completeness, repeating studies only when necessary and minimizing patient radiation exposure.
- Upload, label, and route images through PACS or other image-management systems in a timely and accurate manner.
- Document procedures, findings, and relevant observations in the electronic medical record according to clinic standards.
- Adhere to all radiation safety regulations and clinic policies, including proper use of shielding, monitoring devices, and exposure limits.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging area; follow infection control protocols and use appropriate PPE for each exam.
- Perform routine quality control checks on X-ray equipment and promptly report any malfunctions or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to coordinate patient care and support efficient clinic workflow.
- Provide clear, compassionate explanations of procedures to patients, addressing questions and concerns while respecting cultural and language differences.
- Assist with basic clinical or support tasks within scope of practice as needed to support clinic operations and patient flow.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and quality-improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and community health outcomes.
