Radiology Technician

Physicians Care, a nonprofit clinic serving uninsured adults in Cobb County, seeks a Radiology Technician to support diagnostic services in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. Responsibilities include performing basic imaging studies, preparing patients, maintaining equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and collaborating with medical staff to support treatment plans. Responsibilities

• Perform routine and limited specialized radiographic examinations for adult patients according to provider orders and established protocols.
• Verify patient identity, review exam requests, and obtain relevant clinical history to ensure appropriate imaging and accurate documentation.
• Position, shield, and instruct patients to obtain diagnostic-quality images while maintaining comfort, safety, and privacy.
• Operate radiologic imaging equipment, adjust technical factors, and use PACS/digital imaging systems to capture, review, and transmit images.
• Apply radiation safety practices and ALARA principles for patients, staff, and self, including appropriate use of shielding and exposure controls.
• Maintain exam rooms and imaging equipment in a clean, safe, and organized condition, performing routine quality checks and reporting malfunctions promptly.
• Document procedures, technical factors, and patient information accurately in electronic health records and imaging systems.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other staff to prioritize exams and support timely clinical decision-making.
• Educate patients about procedures, answer questions, and provide reassurance, demonstrating sensitivity to cultural, language, and socioeconomic differences.
• Follow all infection control, OSHA, and clinic safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assist with general clinical support tasks when necessary to maintain efficient patient flow in a nonprofit clinic setting.
