Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiologic imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare, position, and reassure patients to obtain high-quality images while ensuring comfort and safety
- Apply radiation safety and protection practices for patients, self, and staff, following all regulatory and institutional standards
- Operate, monitor, and maintain radiology equipment and imaging systems, reporting issues and assisting with basic troubleshooting
- Capture, evaluate, and transmit images via PACS, ensuring image quality and accurate patient and exam data entry
- Document procedures, technical factors, and patient information accurately in the electronic medical record and related systems
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other care team members to support timely diagnosis and treatment
- Assist with contrast studies as appropriate, and monitor patients for adverse reactions, escalating concerns promptly
- Adhere to infection prevention, patient identification, and safety protocols in all aspects of radiology practice
- Participate in ongoing education, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department
