Counselor in Training

BAART Programs seeks a Counselor in Training to support compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals with opioid use disorder. Under supervision, you will assist with patient intake, documentation, and coordination of counseling and group services. You'll help educate patients on treatment plans, recovery strategies, and community resources while ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance. This role offers hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary clinic, ongoing training in addiction treatment, and opportunities to grow into an independently practicing counselor.

Responsibilities

• Assist counselors with patient intake, screening, and scheduling
• Support delivery of individual and group counseling services under supervision
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical and administrative documentation
• Provide patient education on treatment plans and recovery resources
• Coordinate with nurses and medical staff to support medication-assisted treatment
• Monitor patient participation and report concerns to licensed counselors
• Help facilitate group sessions and recovery-focused activities
• Assist with referrals to community and social support services
• Uphold ethical, privacy, and regulatory standards in all interactions
• Participate in training and supervision to develop counseling competencies
