Montessori Assistant Teacher

LePort Montessori seeks a Montessori Assistant Teacher to support multi-age classrooms from infant to elementary. In this child-centered role, you'll help prepare environments, guide students through authentic Montessori lessons, and model independence, respect, and curiosity. Working closely with lead teachers and families, you'll support individualized, child-led learning and social-emotional growth. LePort provides training in Montessori methods, a collaborative, mission-driven culture, and opportunities for professional development in a nurturing, academically rigorous setting focused on lifelong learning.

Responsibilities

• Support lead Montessori teachers in preparing and maintaining classrooms for infants through elementary students
• Assist in guiding children through Montessori lessons, activities, and practical life work
• Observe students and share notes with lead teachers to support individualized, child-led learning plans
• Model and reinforce independence, respect, and positive social-emotional behavior
• Communicate professionally with families and staff, supporting a collaborative, mission-driven culture
• Ensure children's safety, cleanliness, and adherence to school policies throughout the day
• Participate in training on authentic Montessori methods and implement them consistently
