Nurse Practitioner

Boston Children's Hospital seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced pediatric care across ACCU, ACT, transplant, and ambulatory cardiology services. In this flex role, you will manage complex cardiac and transplant patients, perform comprehensive assessments, order and interpret diagnostics, and collaborate closely with cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams. You will educate families, support safe transitions of care, and contribute to quality and research initiatives within a mission-driven, innovative, and highly collaborative pediatric environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pediatric cardiology-focused care in ACCU, ACT, transplant, and ambulatory settings, including assessment, diagnosis, and management
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging for complex cardiac and transplant patients
• Perform and assist with specialized procedures within scope of practice and unit protocols
• Develop and adjust evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with attending cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, care plans, medications, and post-discharge management
• Coordinate transitions of care across inpatient, step-down, and ambulatory cardiology services
• Participate in quality improvement, clinical protocols, and safety initiatives to enhance outcomes
• Precept and mentor nurses, students, and new advanced practice providers as needed
• Document care thoroughly in the electronic health record and ensure regulatory and institutional compliance
• Participate in on-call or flex scheduling coverage across assigned cardiology service areas
