Ascension is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. In this role, you will deliver specialized cardiac nursing care before, during, and after EP procedures such as ablations, device implants, and diagnostic studies. You'll closely monitor cardiac rhythms and hemodynamics, support physicians during complex interventions, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after electrophysiology (EP) procedures
- Assist physicians with EP studies, ablations, device implants, and related cardiac interventions
- Continuously monitor patient status, rhythms, and hemodynamics, intervening per protocol
- Administer medications, sedation, and contrast agents safely and accurately
- Prepare, operate, and troubleshoot EP lab equipment and monitoring systems
- Maintain accurate documentation, consents, and patient records in the EMREducate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and ongoing cardiac care
- Collaborate with cardiologists, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
- Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards in all EP lab activities
- Participate in ongoing education, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives
Required Skills
- Electrophysiology (EP) nursing
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation (EKG/ECG)
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Conscious/moderate sedation administration
- Intravenous (IV) therapy and medication administration
- Operation of EP lab imaging and mapping equipment
- ACLS and BLS emergency response
