Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with receiving, processing, and preparing prescription orders for pharmacist verification.
- Provide courteous, efficient customer service at the pharmacy counter and over the phone, referring clinical questions to the pharmacist.
- Accurately enter patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Count, package, and label medications in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support inventory management by stocking shelves, rotating products, checking for expired items, and assisting with ordering and receiving medications and supplies.
- Operate the point-of-sale system for prescription and over-the-counter purchases, handling cash and electronic payments accurately.
- Help gather and update patient insurance information and assist with basic insurance and third-party processing under supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy work environment that meets all regulatory and company standards.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and store teammates to support efficient pharmacy workflow and timely prescription fulfillment.
- Participate in training and development activities to progress toward full Pharmacy Technician responsibilities and any required certifications.
