Boston Children's Hospital seeks an Endoscopy Equipment Technician to support our Healthcare & Medical Services department. You'll prepare, test, troubleshoot, and maintain endoscopy equipment to ensure safe, reliable performance for pediatric procedures. Responsibilities include set-up and breakdown of equipment, routine preventive maintenance, documentation of service activities, and collaboration with clinical staff to resolve technical issues. Responsibilities
- Prepare endoscopy procedure rooms by assembling and staging scopes, video systems, and accessories according to procedure requirements.
- Perform manual cleaning, leak testing, and high-level disinfection of flexible and rigid endoscopes following hospital protocols and manufacturer instructions.
- Transport, dry, store, and track endoscopes and related equipment to ensure availability, integrity, and infection prevention compliance.
- Conduct basic visual inspections and simple troubleshooting of endoscopy equipment, promptly reporting malfunctions or damage to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of reprocessing cycles, quality checks, maintenance activities, and inventory usage in logs or electronic systems.
- Monitor and replenish endoscopy-related supplies and accessories, helping maintain organized, safe, and efficient equipment and storage areas.
- Adhere to all infection prevention, safety, and quality policies, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of chemicals.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other team members to support smooth workflow and high-quality pediatric patient care in a fast-paced environment.
