Landfill Gas Plant Operator

Waste Connections is seeking a Landfill Gas Plant Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain landfill gas collection and processing systems supporting transportation and warehousing operations. You will inspect wells, blowers, flares, and compressors; record operating data; adjust equipment for safe, efficient gas recovery; and respond to alarms. The Operator performs routine mechanical maintenance, supports environmental testing and reporting, and follows strict safety and compliance procedures while collaborating with field and hauling teams to ensure reliable service and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor landfill gas collection and processing equipment, including wells, blowers, flares, and compressors
• Perform routine inspections, readings, and adjustments to maintain safe, efficient gas recovery and plant performance
• Conduct preventive and minor corrective maintenance on mechanical and related systems
• Respond to alarms, troubleshoot operating issues, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime
• Record operating data, maintain logs, and support environmental compliance reporting
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures and participate in safety meetings and trainings
• Collaborate with landfill, hauling, and maintenance teams to support continuous operations
