Heavy Equipment Technician

Waste Connections is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to maintain and repair a fleet of trucks and heavy equipment supporting essential environmental services. In this on-site role, you will perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and major repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, and brake systems. Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems on heavy equipment and trucks
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections to maximize fleet uptime
• Troubleshoot equipment failures using diagnostic software, tools, and technical manuals
• Complete accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage in maintenance systems
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures, ensuring a clean and compliant work area
• Collaborate with drivers, dispatch, and operations to prioritize and schedule repairs
• Support continuous improvement of shop processes and participate in ongoing training
