Safety Coordinator

MarBorg Industries seeks a Safety Coordinator to support safe, compliant operations across our Santa Barbara-area waste management and recycling sites. In this field-focused role, you will conduct safety inspections, lead incident investigations, and ensure adherence to OSHA and environmental regulations. You'll organize training, maintain records, and partner with drivers, yard crews, and supervisors to reduce risk and promote a strong safety culture. Responsibilities

• Coordinate and enforce safety policies and procedures across operations and facilities
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
• Lead incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up corrective actions
• Organize and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and orientations
• Maintain safety records, logs, and regulatory documentation
• Support compliance with OSHA, DOT, and local environmental regulations
• Collaborate with operations and fleet teams to improve safe work practices
• Promote a strong safety culture focused on employees, customers, and community

• Occupational safety and health regulations (OSHA/Cal-OSHA)
• Incident investigation and root cause analysis
• Job hazard analysis (JHA) and risk assessment
• Safety auditing and inspections
• Safety training and presentation skills
• Report writing and safety documentation
• PPE selection and implementation
• DOT and fleet safety practices
• Data tracking in Excel or safety software
• Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
