Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital seeks an Inpatient Behavioral Health Therapist to provide assessment, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention for adults in an acute hospital setting. In this patient-centered, multidisciplinary environment, you will complete psychosocial evaluations, develop and update treatment and discharge plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions that support stabilization and recovery. You will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, and other team members, maintain thorough clinical documentation, and help ensure a safe, therapeutic milieu that upholds dignity, respect, and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychosocial and diagnostic assessments for adult inpatient behavioral health patients.
  • Deliver individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based modalities.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment and discharge plans.
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and care coordination.
  • Conduct crisis intervention, safety planning, and risk assessments for suicidal or high-risk patients.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the electronic medical record in a timely, compliant manner.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, coping skills, and community resources.
  • Collaborate with community providers and support systems to ensure safe transitions of care.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, safety initiatives, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Maintain professional licensure, continuing education, and adherence to ethical guidelines.
