Production Grinding Operator

Charter Aarrowcast is seeking a Production Grinding Operator to support our high-quality gray and ductile iron casting operations in Shawano, WI. In this role, you will grind and finish castings, remove excess metal, and ensure products meet strict quality and dimensional standards. You'll read work orders, use hand and power tools, and perform visual inspections in a fast-paced foundry environment. A strong focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork is essential. Responsibilities

• Operate grinding and finishing equipment to remove gates, risers, and excess material from iron castings
• Inspect castings for defects, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish; report nonconformances
• Read and follow production orders, work instructions, and safety procedures
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices to meet quality and tolerance requirements
• Handle and move castings safely using appropriate material handling equipment
• Perform basic equipment checks, cleaning, and minor adjustments to maintain uptime
• Record production, scrap, and inspection data accurately in logs or systems
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to meet schedule and quality goals
• Follow all PPE, housekeeping, and safety standards in a foundry environment

Required Skills

• Grinding and finishing of metal castings
• Safe operation of hand and power tools
• Use of measuring tools (calipers, gauges, tape measures)
• Reading and following work orders and production instructions
• Basic understanding of quality inspection and defect recognition
• Material handling in a foundry or heavy manufacturing setting
