Production Grinding Operator

Charter Aarrowcast is seeking a Production Grinding Operator to support high quality gray and ductile iron casting production in our Shawano, WI foundry. In this role, you will operate grinding and finishing equipment to remove gates, risers, and defects from castings, ensuring they meet quality and dimensional standards. You will follow safety procedures, use measuring tools to inspect parts, and perform basic equipment checks. Working in a team-focused, safety-driven environment, you'll support continuous improvement while building strong technical and trade skills in a stable, growing manufacturing business.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate grinding equipment to finish gray and ductile iron castings
• Read and follow production orders, work instructions, and safety procedures
• Inspect castings for defects, dimensions, and surface finish; make basic adjustments
• Use hand tools, gauges, and measuring devices to verify product quality
• Handle and stage castings, using material handling equipment as required
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow all PPE and safety standards
• Perform basic machine maintenance and report equipment issues promptly
• Meet production, quality, and uptime targets within a team environment
• Communicate with supervisors and teammates on quality or process concerns
• Participate in continuous improvement and training initiatives
