The University of Vermont Health Network seeks a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to perform high-quality imaging exams on night shifts. This role includes preparing and positioning patients, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring radiation safety in a fast-paced hospital environment. You will collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other technologists to deliver accurate, timely studies and compassionate, patient-centered care. Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging exams according to physician orders and departmental protocols
  • Prepare, position, and reassure patients to ensure comfort, safety, and image quality during night shifts
  • Operate imaging equipment and apply radiation safety standards following ALARA principles
  • Document exams accurately in PACS/RIS and communicate critical findings per policy
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and care teams to support timely diagnosis and treatment
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness, perform basic quality control, and report malfunctions promptly
  • Follow infection prevention, patient identification, and safety procedures at all times
  • Support training of new staff or students in imaging workflows and best practices
