Registered Nurse PACU

Ascension is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for our PACU team, delivering post-anesthesia care to diverse patient populations. In this role, you'll perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vitals and pain, manage IV medications, and respond rapidly to changes in patient status. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe recoveries and timely discharges. Working within our compassionate, learning-focused culture, you'll mentor peers, support quality and safety initiatives, and access robust professional development while serving communities across multiple Ascension facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia assessments and continuous monitoring in PACUAdminister IV medications, fluids, and pain management per protocols and physician orders
• Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient status and emergencies
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, medications, and follow-up
• Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR accurately and timely
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards in all care activities
• Adapt quickly to new PACU environments and workflows as a travel nurse
• Support orientation and mentoring of staff in alignment with Ascension values
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
