The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our healthcare team, providing critical psychological services to the inmate population across federal institutions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the mental well-being, rehabilitation, and successful reintegration of inmates into society, aligning with BOP's commitment to secure and humane facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations of inmates to diagnose mental health conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans including therapeutic interventions and crisis intervention services.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions tailored to inmate needs.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical doctors, and correctional staff to create comprehensive treatment strategies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans and progress.
  • Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records in accordance with professional standards and BOP protocols.
  • Conduct risk assessments and contribute to parole board evaluations.
  • Engage in continued education to remain current on best practices in forensic psychology.
