Registered Nurse Med Surg Neuro

Ascension is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Med Surg Neuro to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adult patients with medical-surgical and neurological conditions. In this full-time, on-site role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate personalized care plans; administer medications and treatments; and perform thorough neuro and physical assessments. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, support patient and family education, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to Med Surg/Neuro patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and hospital protocols
• Monitor and document patient status, vitals, neurological assessments, and responses to interventions in the EMRCollaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge plans, and self-care strategies
• Maintain patient safety, infection control standards, and fall-prevention practices on the unit
• Respond to emergencies, perform rapid assessments, and participate in code and stroke protocols
• Precept, mentor, and support new nurses and students, fostering a culture of learning and teamwork
• Advocate for patients' needs, preferences, and rights while demonstrating compassion and cultural sensitivity
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and unit-based committees
