Occupational Therapist
Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking an Occupational Therapist for our inpatient Spinal Cord & Neuromuscular team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive evaluations, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and deliver hands-on therapy to patients with spinal cord and complex neuromuscular conditions. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to optimize functional recovery, independence, and safe discharge. Responsibilities include patient and family education, adaptive equipment training, accurate EMR documentation, and participation in quality and process-improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
- Evaluate spinal cord and neuromuscular patients and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based OT interventions to improve function, mobility, and independence
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, PT, SLP, and case management on coordinated care plans
- Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, equipment, and home safety
- Document assessments, goals, and progress in the EMR per regulatory and hospital standards
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning
- Contribute to quality improvement and best-practice initiatives within the rehab program
- Support mentoring, education, and knowledge sharing within the therapy team
