Ascension is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse ICU to provide expert, compassionate care for high-acuity patients in our intensive care unit. In this role, you will perform comprehensive assessments, manage ventilators and critical drips, monitor hemodynamics, and respond quickly to changes in patient status. You will collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams, educate patients and families, and follow evidence-based protocols. Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, ongoing assessment and monitoring of ICU patients, recognizing and responding to changes in condition.
  • Administer and titrate IV medications, including critical drips, according to physician orders and protocols.
  • Manage ventilators and advanced life-support equipment in collaboration with respiratory therapy and physicians.
  • Perform and interpret basic cardiac monitoring and telemetry, reporting significant findings promptly.
  • Coordinate and document patient care using EMR, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant records.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans with empathy and clarity.
  • Participate in rapid response and code situations, following ACLS and hospital protocols.
  • Maintain strict infection prevention, safety, and quality standards in the ICU environment.
  • Engage in continuing education, unit-based projects, and quality improvement initiatives to support best practices.
