Ultrasound Technologist

The University of Vermont Health Network seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform high quality diagnostic sonography in an academic, patient centered environment. Responsibilities include performing a variety of ultrasound exams (e.g., abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular), optimizing images, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and documenting studies in PACS/EMR. You'll collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other clinicians, follow evidence based protocols, support quality and teaching initiatives, and contribute to compassionate care for diverse communities across Vermont and northern New York.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound exams following established protocols
• Optimize image quality and adjust equipment settings to support accurate interpretation by radiologists
• Ensure patient identification, safety, comfort, and informed explanation of procedures
• Maintain ultrasound equipment, rooms, and supplies according to infection control and safety standards
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other clinicians to coordinate timely patient care
• Accurately document exams and findings in PACS and EMR systems
• Support evidence based practice, quality improvement, and accreditation standards
• Participate in teaching, mentoring, and learning activities within the academic health system
