The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to support complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a collaborative, academic medical setting. In this role, you'll operate advanced imaging and fluoroscopy equipment, maintain a sterile field, assist radiologists during vascular and non vascular interventions, and monitor patients throughout the procedure. You'll follow evidence based protocols, ensure radiation and infection control, document accurately, and engage in continuous learning while serving diverse communities across Vermont and northern New York.
Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with interventional radiology procedures under physician direction, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Operate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and imaging equipment, maintaining high image quality and radiation safety standards
- Prepare patients for procedures, obtain relevant history, and provide clear explanations and post procedure instructions
- Monitor patients during and after procedures, recognizing and reporting changes in status promptly
- Maintain sterile field, assist with vascular access, and manage contrast media according to protocols
- Document procedures, imaging data, and patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care
- Adhere to regulatory, infection control, and radiation safety policies and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and procedure rooms in readiness for emergency and scheduled cases
- Participate in ongoing education, certifications, and skills development aligned with an academic health system
