Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Lead for our MedSurg Oncology unit. In this role, you will provide bedside care while leading and mentoring a team of nurses in a compassionate, patient-focused environment. You will coordinate complex oncology and medical-surgical care, oversee patient flow, and support quality and safety initiatives. Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for Med
- Surg Oncology nursing team on assigned unit and shifts
- Coordinate and deliver safe, evidence-based oncology and medical-surgical nursing care to diverse adult patients
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team
- Serve as clinical resource and mentor to bedside nurses, supporting competency development and best practices
- Monitor quality, safety, and infection-prevention standards; participate in performance improvement initiatives
- Support patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Assist with staffing coordination, patient assignments, and workflow to ensure appropriate coverage and throughput
- Facilitate adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and Ascension policies and procedures
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Participate in staff orientation, ongoing education, and fostering a culture of compassion, inclusion, and continuous learning
