Registered Nurse Mom/Baby

Ascension is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Mom/Baby unit. In this role, you will provide evidence-based postpartum care to mothers and newborns, including assessments, medication administration, breastfeeding support, and discharge teaching. You will collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and support staff to ensure safe, family-centered care. RNs will monitor for complications, respond to emergencies, and document in the EMR. Responsibilities

• Provide postpartum nursing care to mothers and newborns using evidence-based practices
• Perform ongoing maternal and newborn assessments, including vital signs and physical exams
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations per provider orders and protocols
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, offering education and hands-on assistance to families
• Educate parents on newborn care, postpartum recovery, and discharge instructions
• Monitor for and respond to obstetric and neonatal complications or emergencies
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, pediatricians, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in the EMRMaintain patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance standards
• Participate in continuing education, quality improvement, and unit-based initiatives
