Registered Nurse Oncology MedSurg

Ascension seeks a Registered Nurse Oncology MedSurg to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adult oncology and medical-surgical patients. In this role, you will assess and monitor complex conditions, administer chemotherapy and medications, manage symptoms, and coordinate interdisciplinary care plans. You'll educate patients and families, support them through diagnosis and treatment, and advocate for safety and quality outcomes. Working in a collaborative, inclusive environment, you'll precept, participate in continuous learning, and grow your oncology expertise within a mission-driven health system.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oncology and medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients across the treatment continuum.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status, responding promptly to changes in condition.
• Administer chemotherapy, medications, blood products, and IV therapies safely and accurately.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, medications, and symptom management.
• Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, therapists, and support staff to optimize outcomes.
• Advocate for patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
• Manage pain, side effects, and complications associated with cancer and complex medical conditions.
• Precept and mentor new nurses, contributing to a culture of learning and professional growth.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice to enhance patient care.
