REGISTERED NURSE

Ascension is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse Orthopedic to provide specialized care to patients undergoing orthopedic procedures within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based pre- and post-operative care, manage pain, support mobility and rehabilitation, and educate patients and families on recovery and safety. You'll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team in a patient-focused, inclusive environment that values continuous learning, innovation, and professional growth across our leading, non-profit healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based orthopedic nursing care for pre- and post-operative patients.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vitals, and manage pain protocols.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and support surgical recovery plans.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, mobility, and home care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Support quality improvement, infection prevention, and best-practice initiatives.
• Mentor newer staff and contribute to a culture of compassion, learning, and inclusivity.
