CORA Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in an outpatient rehabilitation setting. In this role, you will implement treatment plans under the direction of a Physical Therapist, provide hands-on patient care, document progress, and support patients in restoring function, mobility, and independence. Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans under supervision of a Physical Therapist in an outpatient setting
- Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises, functional training, and use of assistive devices
- Monitor, assess, and document patient progress and response to treatment
- Assist with manual therapy techniques and modalities as delegated by the PTEducate patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Support clinic operations, scheduling needs, and equipment cleanliness/safety
- Uphold evidence-based practice standards and CORA clinical protocols
- Participate in continuing education, mentorship, and quality improvement activities
Required Skills
- Therapeutic exercise prescription and progression
- Outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation
- Neuromuscular re-education
- Manual therapy and soft tissue techniques (under PT direction)
- Use of physical agents and modalities (e.g., e-stim, ultrasound, heat/cold)
- Gait training and balance/fall-prevention interventions
- Patient and family education on home exercise programs
- Clinical documentation in EMR systems
- Pain management strategies within scope of PTA practice
- Knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics
