Registered Nurse MedSurg Oncology

Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse MedSurg Oncology to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adult oncology and medical-surgical patients. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement individualized care, administer medications and chemotherapy, monitor complex conditions, and coordinate with an interdisciplinary team. You'll educate patients and families, support safe transitions of care, and champion quality and safety standards. Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult Med
• Surg/Oncology patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
• Administer medications, chemotherapy and treatments safely while monitoring patients for adverse reactions and changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic, patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, symptom management, and discharge/transition of care instructions
• Document all care, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) per policy and regulatory standards
• Monitor and manage central lines, IV infusions, wounds, and telemetry as appropriate for oncology and med-surg populations
• Advocate for patient safety, infection prevention, pain management, and quality outcomes aligned with Ascension standards
• Precept, mentor, and support newer nurses and clinical staff; participate in unit-based councils and continuous improvement initiatives
• Respond to emergencies and rapid changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment and evidence-based practice
• Participate in continuing education, oncology-focused learning, and professional development opportunities offered by Ascension
