Manager, Laboratory

Adventist Health is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead daily operations of our hospital laboratory, ensuring accurate, timely diagnostic testing that supports whole-person care. This role oversees staff scheduling, workflow, and quality standards; maintains regulatory and accreditation compliance; and collaborates with physicians, nursing, and ancillary teams. The manager mentors and develops laboratory professionals, manages budgets and equipment, supports process improvement and safety initiatives, and models our faith-based mission of compassionate, patient-centered service to the community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations and testing workflows to ensure accurate, timely results
• Supervise, mentor, and schedule laboratory staff, promoting teamwork and professional growth
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and state regulatory standards
• Manage laboratory budget, inventory, and equipment maintenance
• Implement and monitor quality assurance, quality control, and patient safety practices
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and other departments to support clinical care needs
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality
• Maintain and optimize use of the laboratory information system (LIS) and related technologies
