Registered Nurse Med Surg

Ascension seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Medical-Surgical unit. In this role, you'll deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to diverse adult patients, performing assessments, administering medications, managing IVs, and providing wound care. You'll collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, support safe transitions of care, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients following evidence-based protocols
• Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform wound care per provider orders
• Document care accurately in the EMR and maintain regulatory and safety standards
• Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Support smooth admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure continuity of care
• Follow infection prevention and patient safety protocols at all times
• Precept and mentor new nurses or students as assigned
• Participate in quality improvement and continuing education to enhance patient outcomes
