Emergency Medicine Physician

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a Medical Director locum opportunity in Sunnyside, Washington. This position combines hands-on Emergency Medicine coverage with clinical leadership responsibilities in a low-acuity Critical Access Hospital. The schedule consists of approximately 12 shifts per month, providing a consistent opportunity for a physician interested in both patient care and departmental leadership.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• 12 shifts per month
• Work week: Saturday Friday
• Daily overtime after 12 hours
• Weekly overtime after 168 hours

Practice Setting

• Critical Access Hospital
• 24-hour Emergency Department
• 8 ED beds
• Approximately 18,000 annual ED visits
• Low-acuity environment
• Approximately 5% admission rate
• Allscripts Paragon EMR

Responsibilities

• Provide Emergency Medicine clinical coverage
• Independently evaluate and manage a broad range of emergency presentations
• Perform standard Emergency Medicine procedures
• Provide clinical leadership for the Emergency Department
• Partner with hospital leadership and clinical teams
• Support high-quality patient care and operational excellence
• Promote physician engagement
• Support departmental growth and innovation

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in:
• Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
• Internal Medicine (ABIM)
• Family Medicine (ABFM)
• Prior Emergency Medicine experience required
• Leadership experience preferred
• Washington medical license or ability to obtain
• ATLS required
• BLS required
• PALS required
• Broad Emergency Medicine skill set appropriate for a Critical Access Hospital
• Ability to independently manage Emergency Medicine presentations and procedures
