Metal Shop Lead

Mission Critical Group is seeking a Metal Shop Lead to oversee daily fabrication operations supporting mission-critical facilities and data centers. You will supervise a small metal fabrication team, schedule work, and ensure projects meet exact specifications, quality standards, and deadlines. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, setting up and operating metalworking equipment, managing materials and inventory, enforcing safety procedures, and training junior technicians. You'll collaborate with project managers and engineers, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve shop processes in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the metal shop for fabrication projects
• Supervise and schedule metal fabrication technicians
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Set up and operate metalworking machinery and tools
• Ensure work meets quality, tolerance, and safety standards
• Manage materials, inventory, and shop workflow
• Train and mentor junior team members on best practices
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers on requirements
• Troubleshoot production issues and equipment problems
• Implement process improvements for efficiency and safety
