Career Preparation Period Specialist

Career Systems Development Corporation seeks a Career Preparation Specialist to guide Job Corps students through early career readiness. In this role, you will deliver workshops on workplace skills, job search strategies, and professionalism; conduct assessments and create individualized career plans; coordinate work-based learning and employer connections; and track student progress toward placement goals. You will collaborate with counselors, instructors, and center staff to ensure a supportive, structured, and inclusive environment that prepares young adults for employment, further training, or education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver group workshops on employability, workplace readiness, and job search skills
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized career preparation plans for students
• Provide one-on-one coaching on resumes, interviewing, and professionalism
• Coordinate work-based learning, employer visits, and career-related events
• Track and document student progress, outcomes, and compliance data
• Collaborate with counselors, instructors, and center staff to support student success
• Maintain a structured, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment
• Support transition of students into jobs, advanced training, or further education
