Boys & Girls Clubs of America seeks a Youth Development Professional for the Tom Maas Clubhouse to deliver safe, engaging after-school and summer programs. In this role, you will supervise youth ages 6-18, lead activities that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development, and build positive mentoring relationships. Responsibilities include homework help, organizing enrichment and recreational activities, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, documenting attendance and incidents, and collaborating with staff and families to support each member's growth and success.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage youth in daily after-school and summer programs focused on academic support, healthy lifestyles, and character development.
- Plan and deliver structured activities including homework help, enrichment projects, and recreation aligned with BGCA program standards.
- Provide positive mentorship, model appropriate behavior, and build trusting relationships with members ages 6-18.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive Club environment by enforcing rules, monitoring behavior, and responding to incidents appropriately.
- Communicate regularly with Club staff and supervisors regarding member progress, attendance, and any behavioral or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate records, including program attendance, incident reports, and basic participant documentation as required.
- Set up and organize program spaces, materials, and equipment; ensure cleanliness and readiness before and after activities.
- Support special events, field trips, and family engagement activities as needed, occasionally requiring flexible or evening hours.
