Responsibilities
- Oversee collections activities for a portfolio of multifamily residential properties, ensuring timely rent and fee recovery.
- Manage legal administration for delinquent accounts, including notices, payment plans, and coordination with outside counsel.
- Review resident ledgers, aging reports, and payment histories to identify trends and prioritize action.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for legal filings, court appearances, and settlement agreements.
- Collaborate with property managers and leasing teams to resolve resident account issues and disputes.
- Develop and refine collections policies, procedures, and timelines to align with company standards and local regulations.
- Monitor compliance with fair housing, consumer protection, and landlord-tenant laws related to collections and legal actions.
- Provide training and guidance to onsite staff on collections best practices and documentation requirements.
- Communicate professionally with residents regarding balances, options, and consequences of non-payment.
- Report on collections performance, legal case status, and recovery metrics to senior management.
