Bailey Nurseries, Inc., a fifth-generation, family-owned wholesale plant grower, is seeking an Inventory Control professional to support accurate, efficient plant and materials flow across our nursery operations in Newport, MN. In this field-based role, you will track inventory in greenhouses, fields, and distribution areas; perform cycle counts and full physical inventories; and reconcile variances in our systems. You'll partner closely with growing, production, and logistics teams to align stock with orders, maintain clear labeling and lot traceability, and provide reports that support planning and continuous improvement in a safe, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily inventory levels of plants, materials, and supplies across growing and distribution areas
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure accurate records
  • Reconcile variances between system records and physical counts, investigating root causes
  • Update ERP or inventory management systems with receipts, moves, adjustments, and shipments
  • Coordinate with growing, production, and shipping teams to align inventory with demand and schedules
  • Track lot, variety, and quality status to support order fulfillment and traceability
  • Prepare inventory reports and metrics for supervisors and operations leadership
  • Support process improvements for inventory accuracy, storage, labeling, and product flow
  • Follow and promote safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in greenhouse and yard areas
  • Assist with seasonal workload peaks, including tagging, staging, and order preparation
