Residential Leasing Agent

Midland Management LLC is seeking a Residential Leasing Agent to support leasing operations across our Chicago-area apartment and multifamily portfolio. In this role, you will handle property tours, respond to leasing inquiries, qualify prospects, and guide applicants through the screening and lease-signing process. You will coordinate move-ins and renewals, maintain accurate listings and records, and partner with maintenance to address unit readiness and resident needs. Ideal candidates are friendly, detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working independently while upholding our service-focused, family-business culture.

Responsibilities

• Respond to phone, email, and online leasing inquiries and schedule property tours
• Conduct property showings and highlight features, community, and policies to prospects
• Prequalify and screen applicants, process rental applications, and verify references and income
• Prepare, explain, and execute lease agreements, addenda, and renewal documents
• Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, and unit readiness with maintenance and vendors
• Maintain accurate listings, marketing photos, and vacancy information across platforms
• Update CRM and property management software with current resident, prospect, and leasing data
• Collect application fees, holding deposits, and coordinate initial rent payments
• Support resident relations by responding to basic service requests and questions
• Ensure compliance with fair housing laws and company leasing policies
