Child Care Teacher
Chesterbrook Academy is seeking a dedicated Child Care Teacher to join our supportive, child-centered preschool team. In this on-site role, you will design and lead developmentally appropriate, academically rich activities that blend structured learning with play. You will ensure a safe, inclusive environment, supervise children closely, and support their social-emotional and cognitive growth. Responsibilities include lesson planning, classroom management, ongoing observation and documentation, and regular communication with families. You'll collaborate with colleagues, participate in training, and grow your skills within a culture that values teamwork, continuous learning, and strong school-family partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver developmentally appropriate, academically rich lessons for early learners
- Ensure constant supervision and safety of children in the classroom and on school grounds
- Maintain an engaging, organized, and inclusive classroom environment
- Observe and document children's progress and share updates with families
- Communicate regularly with parents to build strong home-school partnerships
- Collaborate with teaching teammates and school leadership on curriculum and classroom activities
- Support social-emotional development and positive behavior guidance
- Follow health, safety, and school policies, including cleaning and sanitizing routines
- Participate in professional development and training sessions
- Assist with school events and family engagement activities as needed
