Shop Service Technician

Holt Group is seeking a senior-level Shop Service Technician 4 to perform complex diagnostics, repair, and overhaul of heavy equipment and diesel systems in our on-site service shop. In this role, you will troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain issues, complete major component rebuilds, and execute preventive maintenance to manufacturer standards. You will document all work, support safe shop practices, collaborate with parts and service teams, and mentor junior technicians to maintain high quality and equipment uptime.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and complex repairs on heavy equipment and diesel systems in the shop
• Conduct complete overhauls on engines, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and detailed inspections
• Document work performed, parts used, and test results in service systems
• Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Collaborate with service advisors and parts department to plan repairs
• Mentor and assist junior technicians with troubleshooting and best practices
• Operate shop tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently
