Shop Service Technician

Holt Group is seeking a highly skilled Shop Service Technician 4 to perform advanced diagnostics, repair, and overhaul of heavy equipment in our on-site shop. In this senior role, you will troubleshoot complex hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, using diagnostic tools, service software, and technical manuals. You'll complete preventive maintenance, detailed inspections, and functional testing, while documenting all work accurately. This position also mentors junior technicians, promotes strict safety and quality standards, and helps ensure customer equipment is reliable and ready for demanding use.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues on heavy equipment in the shop
• Perform advanced troubleshooting using diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and performance testing
• Document work performed, parts used, and findings in service records accurately
• Mentor and support junior technicians with complex repairs and best practices
• Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and company standards
• Communicate repair status, findings, and recommendations to supervisors or service advisors
• Assist with estimating repair times, parts needs, and advising on equipment condition
