Assistant Teacher

Merryhill School seeks an Assistant Teacher to support a nurturing, academically focused classroom in our private preschool and elementary setting. Working closely with a lead teacher, you will help implement lessons, supervise students, and maintain a safe, engaging environment. Responsibilities include preparing materials, reinforcing academic and social-emotional skills, and supporting classroom routines. You will partner with families and colleagues in our close-knit, student-centered community while accessing curriculum resources and professional development within our broader education network.

Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher with daily instruction and classroom activities.
• Supervise students to ensure a safe, nurturing learning environment.
• Prepare materials and assist with implementing lesson plans and curriculum.
• Reinforce academic and social-emotional skills in small and whole groups.
• Communicate positively with students and families, reflecting school values.
• Assist with classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety procedures.
• Observe and report student progress or concerns to the lead teacher.
• Collaborate with staff and participate in professional development as needed.
