First National Bank Texas seeks a Corporate Counsel to provide practical legal guidance across our community banking operations. In this role, you will advise on lending, deposits, digital banking, and branch activities, helping leaders structure compliant, customer focused solutions. You will draft and negotiate vendor, technology, and service contracts, support regulatory and compliance initiatives, and help manage legal risk for new products and projects. Partnering closely with business, risk, and compliance teams, you will translate complex banking regulations into clear, actionable guidance that supports our community driven mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day legal advice on banking, lending, deposits, and financial products.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including vendor, technology, and service agreements.
  • Advise on federal and state banking and consumer protection regulations and support compliance programs.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks for new and existing products and initiatives.
  • Support corporate governance, policy development, and implementation of legal standards.
  • Assist with responding to regulatory exams, inquiries, and customer complaints with potential legal impact.
  • Collaborate with risk, compliance, operations, and business leaders to structure compliant solutions.
  • Manage and coordinate work with external counsel when specialized expertise is required.
  • Develop and deliver training on key legal and regulatory topics to business partners.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the bank and recommend necessary changes.
